This cooperation agreement designates CBL as the exclusive manufacturing partner for synthetic human relaxin-2 (GMP and non-GMP) and Relaxera as the exclusive sales executive partner for relaxin.
Relaxera currently undertakes research to characterize synthetic human relaxin-2 as a pharmaceutical candidate for HFpEF (Heart Failure with preserved Ejection Fraction), based on relaxin’s pleiotropic effects. Relaxin-2 produced at CBL in Patras will further be used to study the effects of relaxin-2 on myocardial fibrosis as well as the mechanism how relaxin-2 protects pancreatic beta cells and might be beneficial for the treatment of impaired glucose tolerance. Relaxin-2 may also become pharmaceutical relevant in the field of dermatology.
